The week....
Jonathan was unable to sign into the miltary this past week for a ship date of Nov 15. So in the coming week he will retake his ASVAB test and hopefully be able to sign into the miltary this coming Thursday.....

I got my braces on Thursday...top and bottom and my mouth is still sore. However I have lost like 9 lbs. I think I like that part...just without the sore mouth. :)

We got a wonderful call on Wednesday for about 45 minutes from Pat. He will be coming home on Dec 19th for a few weeks. I am so excited to see him and have him home even if for a few days. Graduation is just around the cornor and I am already starting to pack my bags and am trying to find just the right thisng to wear.

The boys hung out over at Bill's for the weekend~myself I was out with friends on Friday and Saturday. It was good to see a few old friends and get catch up. My sister-in-law from NM who moved up here earlier this year let me crash here place this Saturday it was fun to get to know her a little more. On Sunday I got to know my other brother-in law a little more also. It was nice.

Well onto a new week!

Crazy life

Well, you would think I would have some free time with my husband leaving just a few months ago....not the case. Teenagers....

We (Jon boy and I) are working on getting 2 men out of the house an into the service within less than 2 months. Jonathan is looking to ship out to his basic training next Friday Nov 14th. The rest of that story goes well with wine and cheese ladies and gents. Wine and Cheese!

With his shipping off to basic will come it's own set of challenges but ones for him to deal with as a young man on his own. Your prayers are welcomed on his present life and his new future.

Pat has been doing well in Boot camp and is down to 30 days left. He has enjoyed some parts...expecially all target partice he is getting with his M16 and he likes the MRE that he gets feed. He has been able to call able once a week for about 5 minutes not long enough but he has been sending plenty of letters which has helped us both stay connected. He is getting his orders for his Christmas break and for that I am excited.

Erik...well is Erik. He is still getting good grades in school A's, and B's and loves to cook...he did not get that from me. But I sure enjoy his cooking.

He CALLED!

Pat called this afternoon to say he was fine and to give me his address...9 weeks and 4 days till we get to see him.

He said there was at least one person older than him and that was good to hear.

The count down has begun!

Pat left for basic training this week (tuesday). Tuesday was ok because we got to spend the whole day with him. He flew out Wednesday morning and we where able to chat during his travel--still ok. Then Thursday came, and friday, and Saturday yuck..yuck..yuck..I can't wait till we get our first call or letter so I can hear his voice or just read his pages. Do you know that it takes at least 5 days for a letter to come from South Carolina to Portland.

I at now at 9 weeks and 5 days till I get to see him for graduation.

Basic is just around the cornor

As you can tell I don't write much in here yet. The plan is to blog when Pat (my husband) ships off to Basic and I need a place to write or vent.

So my husband leaves on Tuesday Sept 23, 2008 to start his career with the Army (Reserves) at this time. We are looking to go active duty at some point but for now our plan is to stay in P-town till next summer.

So life at home will change starting next week. At that point we will see how much I log on and blog.

Till next week...pray for our family :)

Memorial Day

It's raining again in P-town. Today is Memorial day, each year on the Thursday before this weekend our Boy Scout troop visits Lincoln Memorial and places flags at each grave site. Our Troop covers section X, the newest members for Iraq and Afghanistan. This year it seems a little more real. Just last month April 14th to be exact, my husband joined the Army reserves and will ship out to basic in Sept. then on to his AIT training in Dec-May he will be gone for 7 1/2 months total. I am finding that my views for president also are changing to those who want to bring the soldiers home. Selfish, is what I am. Well this is the life we have chosen to step in as we begin our journey into the Army reserves.
